Add3 Hits the Inc. 500 List

Just how important is the technology industry in the Pacific NW?

Well, consider this: Of the 13 companies from Washington and Oregon in the Inc. 500 of the fastest growing privately-held companies, 11 have strong connections to the tech industry, from Spokane e-commerce powerhouse GreenCupboards/Etailz to Seattle mobile advertising upstart HasOffers to Portland’s fast-growing Puppet Labs.

Interestingly, Seattle-based helmet-mounted camera maker Contour, which led the Washington companies on the list in 2011, ranking 7th with revenue growth rate of 11,663 percent, has fallen on tough times as we reported earlier this month.

This year, just 9 companies from Washington state made the list, which is ranked by revenue growth over a three-year period. Interestingly, just one is classified in the software category, while three of the four Portland companies are software companies.

Here’s a look at the top companies on the list.
