Welcome to a special birthday edition of Christian Reads (So You Don’t Have To). I’ll be covering the best SEO news & articles that I’ve been reading the past three weeks.
Why is this a special birthday edition? Because I’m turning the big 3-0 this week. Presents can be send c/o Amplify Interactive.
So let’s get to it!
An In-depth Analysis of Authorship, Google+ and Snippets

I’m sorry folks… but it looks like Google+ is here to stay. That being said, this is a great post that has some examples of Google+ authorship snippets showing up in search results. We at Amplify have all implemented this and, while there isn’t any hard data, we tend to believe that having your author info next to your search result results in higher click through rate. Why do we think this? Because you’re putting a face to the author of the article. It also helps your result pop a little bit more in search results.

I actually really like the title of this article; it leads you to believe that Nick Stamoulis puts out an ideal number. However, he states that you really can’t go with a number… but to develop a link building strategy that gives you the best possible way of accruing however many links each month.

This is a great article about how SEO and social media marketing are blurred more-so for Enterprise-level websites. Adam Sherk hits on five ways you can do a better job with social media while also effectively positively influencing SEO.
It’s also another article that hits on Google Authorship. This is a pretty hot subject right now and many individuals still haven’t done the fairly easy implementation of adding rel=author. Do it now before everyone does it

Negative SEO can have a big impact on a site’s organic rankings. If your site is positioned in a competitive category, it’s very important that you keep on top of any spammy links that are being attributed to it.
Sujan writes that you can use Google Webmaster Tools and Bing Webmaster Tools to not only track any spammy links that are being attributed to your site but in the case of Bing’s Webmaster Tools interface actually “disavow” links you don’t trust within the platform.
My Own Personal Christian Reads…
Still plugging away at the first Game of Thrones book. I’m not finding much time to be able to sit down and read these days, that’s for sure.
