6) IF(LEN(TRIM(A1))=0,0,LEN(TRIM(A1))-LEN(SUBSTITUTE(A1,” “,”"))+1)

Whoah, the Hot 11 is getting all out of the normal format! This is not an article, it’s just an Excel formula that my co-worker Ashley shared. Oh well, #YOLO! This is a useful Excel formula that Ashley sent out this past week. According to her “This is a pretty sweet formula! It counts the number of words in a cell – which can come in handy when you are trying to identify longer tailed keywords in search query reports.” There you go, file that one away in the ole noggin somewhere. Again, that’s IF(LEN(TRIM(A1))=0,0,LEN(TRIM(A1))-LEN(SUBSTITUTE(A1,” “,”"))+1)

7) Quickly Remove the Space From the End of Keywords from Ubersuggest

Let’s keep this off format stuff going! This is not an article, it’s a simple tool that saved me some frickin time this past week. If you use Ubersuggest, you may have noticed that it annoyingly adds a space to the end of terms when you export. I used to use a bothersome function in Excel (TRIM, I think?). Anyways, I found this site that makes this way easier.

8) Pinterest Experiments with Promoted Pins

Advertising is on the way to Pinterest, in the form of promoted pins in its search results. While Pinterest said it’s just a test for now, it assured users that the promoted pins will be tasteful, transparent, and offer a good user experience.

11) Peregrine Falcon Killing a Duck in Mid-Air

from Kottke.org

Oh my gosh, this is pretty awesome. Did you know a Peregrine Falcon can reach speeds of up to 250 miles per hour? WHAT? That’s just crazy talk. Go to about 2:45 to skip to the exciting part.
